Larry A. Pickett, Jr. is Vice President and Chief Information Officer at Purdue Pharma LP, a research-based pharmaceutical company located in Stamford, Conn. Larry has responsibility for all information technology functions at Purdue Pharma, including IT strategy, business process transformation, technology infrastructure, and applications development. In the 20 years since joining Purdue Pharma, Larry has led the company’s implementation of core business systems and international research and development systems. Current areas of focus include advanced business analytics, sensor and wearables for pharma, cloud computing,  and creating competitive advantage through innovative software and business process optimization. He is a founding member of the Westchester/Fairfield chapter of the Society for Information Management and is active with the Pharmaceutical Information Systems Association, an association of CIOs in the pharmaceutical industry. He is on various CIO Customer Advisory Boards and similar life sciences advisory boards. He has also served on committees within the Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America (PhRMA). Before joining Purdue, he held senior IT positions with Merck, Glaxo Welcome, and GE. He earned his Bachelor’s degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and MBA from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.

Dr. Rosen-Zvi is the Director for Computational Health at IBM Research. She is also heading the Health Informatics Department at IBM Research, Haifa. She did PhD in Physics and submitted her thesis entitled "Learning from examples in complex networks" in 2002. In the three years that followed she conducted postdoctoral studies in the area of Machine Learning in UC Berkeley, UC Irvine and the Hebrew University; In summer 2005 she joined IBM Research in Haifa. She has contributed to and lead a number of multidisciplinary projects where physicians, data scientists and  experts from Pharmaceutical companies joined forces to analyze post launch patients data.  She published around forty peer-reviewed papers and co-chaired a dozen of workshops in the area of machine learning and health informatics. She gave talks at numerous forums and this year gives a course at the Hebrew University about Real World Evidence.

It was during this time where he realised the relevance of data, how it is compartmentalized and why it needs to be better disseminated across the company. He has a scientific background with a PhD in microbiology from the University of Munich. He also gained an MBA from Henley Management College.
